Gillian Lynch is the CEO of Gemini in Europe, having joined the business in 2021 to set up Gemini’s European division. Prior to joining Gemini, Gillian worked in multiple senior roles within both traditional banking, spending over 20 years working for the Bank of Ireland, and more recently, as a CSO for a non-legacy cloud based Banking as a Service solution. Having spent over two decades working within financial services prior to joining the cryptocurrency industry, Gillian has witnessed the evolution of crypto and blockchain technology, utilising her experience and knowledge of working within traditional regulatory frameworks to lead Gemini to be licensed as an Electronic Money Institution and for Gemini to become the first crypto company to be registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) under the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). Gillian is now responsible for expanding and growing the Gemini European division. She is an ambassador and expert on thoughtful crypto regulation, enriching Gemini’s ethos of working proactively with regulators and asking for permission, rather than forgiveness.
