Joao is a Technologist and Economist working for the European Commission as the Head of Sector of the Digital Building Blocks department in DG Informatics (DIGIT).
In this role, Joao is responsible for the management of large EU-wide Digital Transformation projects including the establishment of the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). EBSI is the first all-European public-sector driven blockchain that aims at providing blockchain-based services for the benefit of citizens, society and the economy.
